Well Groomed

23 Oct 2006
Stretch limousines adorned the drive of Alison House in Cromford last week as guests arrived, not for a wedding, but for help in planning their own special day.

A wedding fayre which took place at the recently refurbished Toc H hotel, attracted around 150 people, including prospective brides, grooms and their parents. A harpist filled the hotel lounge with romantic music while guests sampled delicious morsels cooked up by Alison House chef, Peter Groves.

A saxophonist and jazz band provided a festive atmosphere in the large marquee in Alison House';s stunning grounds, which housed displays of hats, dresses cakes and balloons and practically every other wedding accessory imaginable.

“The day was an outstanding success,” said Graham Walsh, Alison House manager. “It gave local people the chance to see the tremendous improvements we have made and not only received bookings for the restaurant, but several enquiries from couples wanting to book Alison House for their wedding next year.”
